PDF Studio is a powerful suite of professional document tools integrated
directly into FormatFlex. It is divided into three specialized areas:

For maximum privacy, most PDF Studio operations (like splitting, merging, and signing) happen
entirely on your device, while advanced features like OCR and high-ratio
compression are processed on our secure cloud servers.
How do I restore my Pro subscription?
If you have previously purchased "FormatFlex Pro" but don't see your premium status, go to the app settings or the paywall screen and tap the "Restore Purchases" button. Ensure you are signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
What is the FormatFlex Conversion Matrix?
The **FormatFlex Conversion Matrix** is our intelligent format-matching engine. Unlike basic converters, FormatFlex analyzes your source file and only presents valid, high-fidelity conversion paths. How does the Smart Scanner work?
The Pro Document Scanner uses advanced edge detection to find document borders instantly. You can scan multiple pages sequentially and convert the entire set into a single high-fidelity PDF. Pro users can scan up to **25 pages** per document, while Starter and Free plans support **10** and **3 pages** respectively. Our backend uses high-accuracy OCR to ensure searchable, sharp results.
Are my files secure?
Absolute security is core to FormatFlex. All files are encrypted during transit and processed on our secure conversion servers. Files are **automatically and permanently deleted** immediately after the conversion is completed. We do not store, view, or share your documents.
Why did my conversion fail?
While we support 100+ combinations, failures can occasionally occur due to password-protected files, highly complex proprietary features in a legacy document, or a poor network connection during upload. If a conversion fails, double-check your internet connection and try again. For persistent issues, our engineers are ready to help via email.
Do I need an internet connection?
Capturing documents with the camera and viewing local files works entirely offline. However, to maintain high-fidelity results and feature-rich OCR, all file conversions (including the final step of "Scanning to PDF") are processed on our secure Google Cloud servers. An active internet connection is required to complete any conversion or scanning project.
Is there a file size limit for conversions?
To support high-resolution assets, we have increased our file size limit to **25MB** per file for all users. This is specially optimized for 48MP iPhone Pro photography and complex, multi-page document scans, ensuring you never hit a wall during your professional workflows.
What languages does the OCR support?
FormatFlex's high-accuracy OCR supports over **50 major languages**, including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and many more. It's designed to recognize text even in complex layouts or low-light scans.
Can I convert multiple files at once?
Yes! FormatFlex now features powerful **Batch Conversion** support. You can select multiple documents from your files or capture multiple pages using the scanner. Pro users can process up to **10 files** simultaneously, while Free and Starter plans support batches of up to **3 files**. You can even export your entire completed batch as a single, organized **ZIP archive**.
How do I share my converted documents?
Sharing is seamless. Once a conversion is complete, tap the **"Save / Open in App"** button (for single files) or **"ZIP & Share All"** (for batches). This opens the native iOS Share Sheet, where you can send your document via AirDrop, Email, iMessage, or save it to the Files app and cloud services like iCloud, Google Drive, or Dropbox.
Can I edit a scan after I've captured it?
Yes. Before finalizing your scan into a PDF, you can review all captured pages in a full-screen preview. If any page isn't perfect, you can easily remove it and capture a new one to ensure your final document is exactly as you need it.
What is the "Starter Plan"?
The Starter Plan is a one-time purchase designed for users who need a specific number of premium conversions without committing to a subscription. It provides **10 high-fidelity conversions** with the same professional output quality as our Pro tier, making it perfect for occasional projects.
How do I request a refund?
Since all transactions are processed securely through Apple's App Store, refunds are managed directly by Apple. To request a refund, please visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find your FormatFlex purchase, and select "Request a refund."
